The creative process! Everyone worked really hard to use a contrast of hot and cold colours and create layers of different materials to create a slice of a landscape. Will post images of the finished product on Monday 😀

This week, we looked at Scottish artist and designer Gillian Kyle and tried out the tea cake challenge 😀
Today we learned a little about Scottish artist Andy Scott and looked at some of his sculptures. Although Andy tends to use steel, we worked on developing our creative skills using clay to create a tile that represented something important to us.
Today we looked at Scottish artist Steven Brown. We then created a highland coo in his style before personalising it with finishing touches and a name.
We have been learning about Volcanoes this week. We had a great discussion about what happens and facts about volcanoes and then worked with a partner to build our own. There was lots of fun painting it on the Friday and we look forward to erupting them next week!
As part of our Pop Art topic, we looked at who Andy Warhol was and some of his most famous creations. The class really liked Warhol’s two key questions:
What is art? Who is an artist? They really liked the idea that art could be anything and anyone could be an artist! We then looked at making a self-portrait, focussing on developing the use of and control of shape and line as well as thinking of placement. Using photos on their IPADS they then finished them off with personal details and used watercolour to colour them in the style of Andy Warhol’s famous Marilyn painting. Lots of Creative Chloes today! We were using chalk pastels to create Bonfire Night images. The results are fantastic!
Check out this class of Creative Chloes relaxing and enjoying making some spooky masks for Halloween. I have seen lots of Halloween images, detailed patterns and a variety of accessories stuck on to add drama! Hope you enjoy them at home.
Today P4/5 applied all their learning about ‘Reduce, Reuse and Recycle’ so far to create an informative and eye catching poster to help other people. They are working very hard to make sure it is helpful with relevant information and detailed illustrations as well as being eye catching and easy to follow. Look out for images on here once they are completed and then, look out for these around your local community!
This afternoon, everyone worked very hard and had great fun collecting leaves and using them to make their own hedgehogs. There was lots of great discussion about the purpose of using mixed media and comparison of different types of leaves. I think the results were fantastic!
