We understand the last few weeks have been difficult and that the children have not had as many visits to the Primary 1 classrooms as they would have done usually. We have Mrs Hamilton and our new teacher Miss Swinton, with Miss Thorpe one day a week as our Primary 1 teachers this year and they will be supported by our Primary 1 Early Years Practitioners Mrs Snedden and Mrs Whitehead and our Pupil Support Assistant Mrs Anderson. The team are busy getting the Primary 1 space organised for next year and are really looking forward to seeing the children back in school.

Please click below to open a video for Nursery Children who are moving into Primary 1. The video is on the school Facebook page but even if you don't have Facebook it should still open.

The video features a character called Scaredy Squirrel who is worried about what will happen if he leaves his nut tree and has to go out into what he calls 'The Unknown'. The worries he has are just like the worries some of the children may have about leaving the familiar Nursery environment and moving into Primary 1.
When the children go back to school they will learn more about Scaredy Squirrel and how the things we think we are scared of aren't actually scary when we find out more about them.
