For our waste minimisation topic we are continuing with the recycling of paper, cardboard, Aluminium cans, textiles, batteries, ink cartridges, food, fruit peelings and plastic yoghurt pots etc...
The textiles are placed in a bin outside and are removed by a company who pays us an amount per kilogram. the textiles are then recycled by them.
Our fruit peelings are placed in compost bins along with other compostable waste and the resulting compost is used in and around the school grounds.
Our paper and card are used on both sides when possible and then, along with other waste paper, card, plastics and aluminium cans, put into recycling bags and removed by the local council.
Ink cartridges are collected in a central location and a local charity takes them away to be refilled.
Batteries are collected then removed by a recycling company.
