Happy Holidays everyone! I hope you all have a lovely time. This week we have looked at the ‘wh’ sound in literacy. In reading we have been working on our comprehension skills and reading for information within a text. In numeracy we continued our work on money looking at finding change. We used number lines to count on or backwards to solve our problems. Continuing our Learning about Abbotsford house we looked at a special silver dish that had been gifted to Sir Walter Scott named a Salver. This had been gifted to him by John Ballantyne a bookseller who Sir Walter was friends with. On this salver Walter Scott’s coat of arms had been engraved. We created our own coats of arms to represent who we are. We tried to include some of our favourite things and colours within them. The class have really enjoyed reading "Quel Temps Fait - Il, Berthe?" to practise describing the weather in French. The class can do actions to show each weather phrase and sound effects and might even be able to join in with the story-teller.
