As part of the local Abbotsford Project, P4 were asked to look at a specific sword that is housed within Abbotsford House. We learned about Rob Roy (the rumoured owner of the sword), wrote haiku or acrostic poems about the sword and even made our own balloon swords so that we could learn some sword-fighting and fencing skills!
We had a great and very messy time creating Snorkelling selfies, with real bubble effects! Of course, some of us ended up covered in blue food colouring - but we had a great time doing it, and that's what matters!
Two different kinds of races this week - One slower race on-line towards the top of the SumDog leader board (We finished 4th!) and a shorter, more intense egg and spoon race ahead of the Easter Holidays. As always, plenty of encouragement and support amongst the class along the way :)
As I type this, I hope I'm not going to spoil the surprise for anyone before Sunday... We had a fun time in P4, creating bouquet cards to go along with the 'Top Hats' we made for our Mums :) Happy Mother's Day when it comes!! Recently we have been learning about measure. Firstly, we learned about metres and centimetres and had plenty of practice taking part in measuring activities. Did you know that there are a lot of jobs that use measure? Hairdressers, Tradesmen, even Fashion Designers! Then, we moved on to weight and we have been learning about grams and kilograms. To help us get some practice, we were allowed to make our own snack mixes! We could choose from a variety of ingredients, as long as we measured these out before putting them in the bag. As you can see, we had a lot of fun! Another great week has been had in P4! This week we celebrated something exciting on Tuesday (22.2.22) - 2SDAY! Throughout the day, we completed plenty of 22-second challenges - some involving literacy, numeracy and health and wellbeing, and others just for fun! Our favourites included "How many compliments can you give in 22 seconds?", the Basic Maths Facts relay and, of course, the chocolate biscuit challenge! Continuing our learning about the systems in our body, we had a fun time in P4 this week measuring how long our digestive system is and making our own working model. It was very messy, with lots of laughter along the way - as you can see!
Today, we continued our learning about the circulatory system and made some blood! From plasma to red and white blood cells and platelets, we had it all - and had a very messy time taking part! Plenty of fun, plenty of learning and plenty of suspicious looks at the red hands of P4!
Take a look at our slideshow - we had plenty of fun having an indoor Highland Games! |
