During literacy today, I found myself thinking how calm and peaceful the class was. There were groups of children working away at their tasks and I was supporting a group but I knew some had finished quicker than expected and had been given free choice. Where were they?! I expected the noise of lego construction or ipads or any other game/toy in the class. Instead, they had all chosen to choose a book to read and I was able to capture this photo of them all lost in their own world. A nice, positive midweek moment. Thanks P4!

As part of our activities in Emotions Work we have been using a series of books featuring different animals. The children have been learning facts about hippos, llamas, rhinos etc. For example what do llama's ears tell us about how they are feeling?! They have also been using their playdoh to recreate some of the animals. Can you guess what they are meant to be?
We have been learning more about telling the time in different ways and using different clocks. Hopefully the children will continue to use and develop these skills in their everyday lives.
After the October break we will be learning about different angles and co-ordinates. As part of Maths Week Scotland, P4 had an imaginary day out around Galashiels. Throughout the day we were set challenges by various members of the local community who had sent us videos needing our help. We designed some new patterned tiles for Tile Style, helped Lisa at the Pool with some of her questions and even heard from a local firefighter!
