We have started our Scots Topic for this term...
This week we have been learning about:
Tartan - we have been designing our own tartans. Tartan is a repeat pattern and we used different colours to design our own (maximum of 6 colours). We have looked up our Family names to see if we have our own tartan.
Google Earth - we have found a few places on Goggle Earth this week, including the school and our houses. It is really fun and some of us has used the website at home.
French numbers - we have enjoyed watching a French rat called Ratounet. He has been teaching us a song with numbers 1 - 10 and how to say hello and goodbye. We have played the game thirteen this week. It is really fun. When you say the number thirteen you have to sit down.
We have started getting ready for Christmas, making bunting for the class and singing the songs we will sing for the Church Service.
In maths we have been borrowing from ten when taking away. We have found this challenging but will keep on trying.

We have been writing stories this week. We used dice and pictures to help us write about certain objects, characters and settings.
In maths we have been looking at more symmetry. We have started looking at chimney sums and borrowing from the tens column.
In ICT, we have been debugging. We have been looking at directions to move a character around a puzzle. We would like to learn trickier puzzles in the future.
This week we have been very busy making cards, wreaths, Christmas mice and magazines for our Christmas Fayre.
The class have been busy playing nicely with each other this week. Connect four is one of our favourites.
We have been looking at our Recognition Board this week. First we looked at Responsible, then Safe and lastly Ready to Learn. The three things are our new school exceptions. Ready to Learn was the easiest one because we did our work straight away and worked really well as part of a group. We wrote our initials on the board when we achieved this. Safe was hard for some because some of us can be a little bit silly.
In maths we have been looking at symmetry. We designed our own flags for our castles and we had to make sure that both sides are the same. We have really enjoyed looking at symmetric patterns and designs.
We went to the school library and we were looking at books that we like. Roald Dahl is one of our favourite authors. We also found a castle book that will help with our topic work.
We have been continuing to write in our Learning Logs. We have changed it a little bit and have started looking at our next steps to help with our learning.
Hello and welcome to our P3/4 blog.
