Home learning Packs

Each pupil received a home learning pack containing a range of resources such as printed workbooks for them to complete. As well as their workbooks pupils received this overview of learning:
Spelling
· Complete spelling words in handwriting grids.
· Use previous homework words to recap spelling patterns and complete more activities in homework jotter.
· Group spelling task (‘correct the spelling’ or ‘English Homework’)
· Go onto Doorway online speller and complete spellings tests for previous homework words.

Reading
· Read your group reading book and complete a book review on it. Use extra paper if needed.
· Create book reviews on other books you read at home. Think about how these book reviews would help others to choose books to read.
· Look at different texts—fiction, non-fiction, newspapers, online, etc. Take some notes on what you have read—this could be in the form of a mind map, bullet points or a summary.
· Learn lines from the Jungle Book –practice playing different characters.

Writing
· Handwriting booklet(s)
· Correct the sentence punctuation worksheets
· Don’t forget the Quotation marks!
· Write your own sentences using quotation marks.
· Watch a film and complete a film review (complete this on paper using the book review template to help you).
· Writing task - Create a blurb for the book you designed. Use the sheet provided.
· Write an imaginative story based on your book cover—use the story mountain planner to help you. Draw a picture of the scene you will set at the start of your story. VCOP your work as you go to make sure you have a range of high level words.
· Thinking about our poetry work, create a poem using rhyming couplets about a theme of your choice (for example: animals, The Jungle Book, the Egyptians)
· Write diary entries of what you have been doing.
Numeracy
· Times Tables Activity booklet
· Basic Maths Facts Practice & recap sheets
· Create your own Basic Maths Facts games
· Learning Your Tables Worksheets (multiplication and division)
· Colour by number worksheets
· Sumdog

Health and Wellbeing
· Mindfulness—colouring in
· Watch Yoga for children on YouTube.
· Create your own fitness routine (10 start jumps, 2 sit-ups, etc.)
· Watch you Tube “Go Noodle”
· Complete “my weekly food and drinks diary”
· Research healthy eating and create an eat well plate using food you like.

Expressive Arts & Topic
· Try drawing different characters from the Jungle book using this website:

· Research mythical creatures
· Gather a range of creatures which are real, mythical or have been created in books or films.
· Create your own mythical creature. Use different art materials to recreate your creature (coloured pencils, pen, writing pencil only, outdoor art tools, sticks, paint etc.)
· Design a poster for the Jungle Book.
· Write down what you think the THEMES are in the Jungle Book.
· Read and learn your script/songs.
· Create Success Criteria for an effective performer.
· Note down an features of a script or musical score e.g. italic writing (why?), 1-19 on the music (why is it there?).
· Practice singing all of the songs.
