This week we have been learning all about Earthquakes!
To demonstrate the impact of an earthquake we carried out 2 experiments. The first of these we used everyday items from around the classroom to make an earthquake proof structures, using a book balancing on bouncy balls to create the shake of a quake.
From this we learn some lessons about the structure of buildings having a wide base and solid foundations made it more stable.
To put this into practise we used some trays of jelly, toothpicks and marshmallows to create structures that were secure, stuck them onto the jelly and shook it like an earthquake. It was great fun and the children worked so well together on the project to get the best results. See the picture and videos below.
We started learning about puberty and everyone was very sensible and mature during our discussion. We will continue to learn about this term,
Finally this weeks star of the week was Corey for growing in confidence to take part in class discussions and being very sensible and mature in the lay ground by not getting involved in arguments and silly behaviour. Well done Corey your a star!
