Happy Holidays!

This week we have been busy finishing off our writing linked to our topic work about WW1. We have written letters from the trenches, thinking about how soldiers might have felt. We explored different senses and used this to inform our writing. The pupils have done an amazing job producing these letters, they are now displayed in the classroom along with our posters all about the trenches. I am so proud of the work they produced and the effort that they put into it. Here are some of our fantastic work:
Our naughty elf has also been up to his old tricks this week; stealing the star from our Christmas tree, writing on our board, making a mess of our resources and putting Miss Notman and Mrs Corry on the naughty list.
It has been a very busy week full of Christmas activities. We have been taking part in a film study about the Nightmare Before Christmas, we have taken part in a Christmas quiz, snowman drive and created a Christmas menu using real life prices and working with different budgets. We also snuck in sometime to make some hot chocolate bottles to gift to our families (or keep for ourselves!) we also created some amazing Grinch inspired art work using oil pastels.

We also finished of our clay work, painting our trees and stars. We made these using clay and polymer clay. The trees are candle holders and the starts are tree decorations. These were quite tricky to make but a lot of fun.
Finally we are so grateful to the parent council, we received our present of table football and it is all built ready to play with. Miss Notman also used the money to buy some prizes and treats for the class. Thank you!

Merry Christmas!
