Creative clay creatures and more...

Our second last week of outdoor learning with Anna. :( We build dens as a team and we made them out of string and tarp.

We made clay models and some of us made snowmen in hats and faces on trees. The clay was difficult to work with at first but as soon as we started pulling it apart we found it easier. When the clay got wet it became really slimey.

We pretended we were on an island and we had a list of items that we could have on the stranded island with us. JB built a pretend campfire to help us keep warm.

We also used fire starters to try and start our own fires using cotton wool buds. Some people lit them on fire whilst others struggled as the cotton wool got a bit wet! IK gave some hints to rip the wet parts out and it helped some other groups. We found this quite difficult but enjoyed seeing the sparks when we got it to work.

We again had marshmallows because we built some excellent dens and worked great as a team.
