Hi P4/5 how are you today. I had a chat with Jamie on TEAMS today, He told me that it was much easier to access twinkl than planbee so we're going to stick with that. My log on details are lornastirling@googlemail.com and my password is wishingstar. You will find a lot of exciting activities on there. You might like to look at more tasks you can do using adverbs, remember you're year 3 which is the same as P4 in Scotland. You might like to practise your 6 times tables if you feel confident with the 2,3,4,5 and 10 times tables. Topic work ideas can be found here too. It's called Oceans and Seas P4 mini home learning topic. Good morning P4/5 this is the start of our online learning adventure! Here are some activities you might like to give a go!
First of all just some maths revision on BBC Bitesize. For maths it's important that you know all the properties of 2D and 3D shapes to move onto the next level of learning. The lesson on tessellation is fun too, perhaps you could make your own pattern or look for tessellation around your home or even outside on your walks. The next lesson I would like you to do is on BBC Bitesize...What is an adverb? These will make your writing interesting. Finally for today we will be starting our new topic which is called"Under the Sea". your first lesson is learning about oceans and seas around the world. Go to-planbee login login to your account use - lornastirling@googlemail.com password-bracken13 click on-my downloads go to P4 Under the Sea-Locating Oceans and Seas open lesson 1--plan 1 can help adults help you with this work slide 1 - gives you information work1 - gives you work to download or you can just copy a map and label it. Let me know how you get on by getting in touch on Teams. Have fun Ms Stirling. We looked at the paintings of a modern Italian artist called Alessandro Siviglia . We used oil pastels to copy his art work but with our own twist. We liked the simple structures he used his portraits. These are our "copies".
Julius Langleeus came to visit our classroom. He is a Roman soldier who lived in Rome Italy about 2000 years ago. He travelled to Britiain and stayed in a fort in Newstead. We found out what life was like to be a Roman soldier, lots of training and marching was involved. We found out about the armour Julius would wear and the equipment he would use to conquer many armies.
P4/5 worked in groups to build these townhouses. We learned about Roman houses and the way Romans lived.
Our topic this term has been about Romans. We learned that they decorated their homes with mosaics, E is making a mosaic out of paper squares.
