![]() We have been writing stories this week. We used dice and pictures to help us write about certain objects, characters and settings. In maths we have been looking at more symmetry. We have started looking at chimney sums and borrowing from the tens column. In ICT, we have been debugging. We have been looking at directions to move a character around a puzzle. We would like to learn trickier puzzles in the future. This week we have been very busy making cards, wreaths, Christmas mice and magazines for our Christmas Fayre. The class have been busy playing nicely with each other this week. Connect four is one of our favourites.

We have been looking at our Recognition Board this week. First we looked at Responsible, then Safe and lastly Ready to Learn. The three things are our new school exceptions. Ready to Learn was the easiest one because we did our work straight away and worked really well as part of a group. We wrote our initials on the board when we achieved this. Safe was hard for some because some of us can be a little bit silly.
In maths we have been looking at symmetry. We designed our own flags for our castles and we had to make sure that both sides are the same. We have really enjoyed looking at symmetric patterns and designs. We went to the school library and we were looking at books that we like. Roald Dahl is one of our favourite authors. We also found a castle book that will help with our topic work. We have been continuing to write in our Learning Logs. We have changed it a little bit and have started looking at our next steps to help with our learning. We have been making junk castle models. We used boxes and masking tape to make the castles. We helped each other with them.
We have been making wreaths for our Christmas Fayre, we will continue to make more crafts over the next couple of weeks. We have been practising our Christmas Bauble cards. On Monday we had a visit to Galashiels Library and we took part in a quiz. The quiz was fun, we'll not spoil the answer! In maths we have been working hard in take away chimney sums. Most of us have been enjoying these sums.
We have been printing bricks for our castle walls and have a new area to make junk castles. We have been playing Halloween bingo, solving word searches and taking our time to colour in beautiful pumpkins. We hope everyone has a great time at the Halloween Disco this afternoon!! :) |
