On Tuesday we had a special visitor at the school. When he was talking to us he got a call on his radio telling him that he was needed to go to a fire! Hopefully we can get to hear their stories next time... On Wednesday we had Sports Day. It was really fun. In the morning we competed in races and we all did really well. In the afternoon we had potted sports - we were split in to our different houses and then in to smaller groups. We have been working really hard on our play and we are starting to get tired. Hopefully we will have the energy on our final performances!! We will be trying on outfits soon and will start feeling more like our characters.

On Monday afternoon we had a visitor to the school, author Matthew Fitt. We learned about being Scots and talking and reading in Scots. He read wee fairytale stories and The Gruffalo in Scots. We all loved it!! In writing we have been creating stories using photo prompts, this week it was a monkey and a key. We enjoyed writing different stories about the monkey. In maths this week we have started looking at data handling. We have been looking at tally marks, sorting data in tables and pictograms. On Tuesday lunchtime, we had a dancing lesson. Norrie taught us how to do Zumba. We had a lot of fun but it was very hot and tiring!! In art this week, we have been inspired by a book brought in by K. We have been making some super scratch art pictures. We hope that we can make some at home...
In our play topic we have started to act on stage and perform without our words. This week we have been practising our lines from our play and all of our songs. We have learnt some of them off by heart already. We hope that we continue to be really good and have a great performance.
We have been looking at the backgrounds for the stage and designed a forest back drop. We also looked at different outfits for our dragon and princess characters. Mr Guthrie gave us a task this week during assembly. We had to draw a butterfly 4 times. Every day we gave a partner feedback on what mistakes they make and how they could correct it. We will show pictures next week, we hope you can see improvement throughout the days. |
