We re-visited our skills for using Skeches school today with the help of our P7 tech experts. We searched an image, uploaded it to the app, traced it and then added colour. We have just started using Showbie and a few of us managed to upload our learning.

12 Days of Christmas

8/12/2022

In P3/4 we have been taking part in the Inspire 12 days of Christmas activities. Today we made a start on our table top green screen productions. The class had experience with what a green screen was used for. We are building on this previous knowledge by creating a festive film. Today we made our characters, chose our backgrounds and filmed our green screen. Next week we will combine these in iMovie to great our films and we will be able to hare them. Thank you to our p7 helpers.

Book Week Scotland

We had a book thief in our class! We arrived in class to discover no books. We made our own books and then read Story Thief from the P3 Read Write Count Bag. This led us to some clues around the school until we found our books in Mr Guthrie’s office, we were relieved to find them. We also enjoyed a story and a ‘toasted’ marshmallow with a pretend campfire.

Today we were really having to think in small groups about a problem involving a sheep called Eric who was jumping the queue to be, shorn! We talked about it, used white boards, cubes and magnets. It created lots of discussion and challenged our thinking.

Play

Play is an important part of our learning in P3/4. Today we had some time for play. We used our imaginations to create a den to draw in, run a cafe with playdough money and food, time to colour independently, playing Uno with friends and time to read.

Emotion Works

As part of our outdoor learning this week, we collected materials while in the woodland area and created faces in hoops to show different emotions. Look at these expressive eyebrows and mouths to help identify the emotions along with blue paper and ribbon for tears! As you can see, we also had a bit fun out in the woodland area too!

As part of our novel study of The Wild Robot, the class did some observational drawing of electrical items used at home. The detail in their drawings is amazing.
