English and Literacy
Writing –We are learning to create poems. Create a simple poem about a highland cow using Scots language, there is a word bank of Scottish words to help you. Keep it simple by using each line to describe a part of the coo. Please upload on to Assignments
Phonics/ Spelling – read your words with speed and then choose two activities from the spelling grid.
Reading – We are learning to give our opinion. Look at the sounds and words in the front cover of your book. Read through the book fully and complete Like/Not Like activity.
Listening and Talking – We are learning to take notes. Watch Newsround and note down three or more of the main points. You can use bullet points or a spider diagram.
Numeracy and Maths
Basic Maths – Play a game to revise your basic maths facts (see pack).
Sumdog – Play 10 minutes.
Numeracy (multiplication) – We are learning how to count in 3s. We are learning to use and understand the x symbol.
Health and Well-Being and Topic
Topic – Art – Steven Brown. We are learning about a Scottish Artist and their style. Watch the audio PowerPoint on his style and history behind the artist. Watch the video to create your own Highland cow. Making sure you add colour to your coos. HWB Family Challenge – Make chalk using eggshells and flour. Look up KIDSPOT – how-to-make-your-own-eggshell-chalk. You could create your own doorstep highland cow or other drawings on paving stones/pavement.
