HWB – We are learning about how germs are spread and controlled. Look back at your bread experiment table and write an update on how this went. Looking at what changes you saw from each piece of bread and what conclusions you drew from this. We are learning to demonstrate different ways of moving my body safely with increasing control. Create a throwing course e.g. you could draw three circles outside on the ground, each one a bit further away OR three boxes inside OR plastic plates etc. Using a ball, a bean bag or a pair of socks, challenge someone to a throwing contest. The closest ‘hoop’ is worth two points, the next is five points but the one furthers away (make it quite far!) is worth ten points! Each person gets three throws. Before the first play, discuss some safety concerns? Where would be best to set up? Outside, in a bedroom, in a room with lots of breakable ornaments? How could you make it safer? English and Literacy Writing –We are learning to create poems. Create a simple poem about a highland cow using Scots language, there is a word bank of Scottish words to help you. We are learning to find any unfamiliar words and understand their meaning. Complete Word Detective - look at the story words in front cover and find the meaning of any you do not understand. HWB – We are learning about how germs are spread and controlled. Like the ‘preparing a sandwich task last week, demonstrate making a fruit salad. Think about safety issues with the sharpness of a knife and how to hold it and the fruit whilst keeping your fingers safe! You could make fruit salad or help chop vegetables for dinner or soup. You can take photos or draw yourself creating the food, then label them with the main points of hygiene and safe use of equipment.
