Welcome to P3 blog

Numeracy
In Numeracy this term we have been working on number and number processes, money and data handling.
Some ideas of activities to do at home are-
  1. Sumdog which all the children have access to and have a copy of their password.
  2. Counting items around the house
  3. Bird watching and recording the different species of bird and then create a tally chart or bar graph (both of these we have done many times before in class)
  4. Topmarks is another great website which the children know how to use.
Literacy
Every day in Literacy we do a literacy carousel which involves spelling, reading, grammar, writing skills and handwriting. There are a lot of resources included in their work from home pack to support these areas of learning.
  1. The children should use the sounds mat I have included in their work from home packs and could create different sounds lists for these.
  2. Sumdog also has a reading and spelling section which are great for the children to revise skills learned in class.
  3. Spelling training is another fantastic website which we have used to revise specific sets of words.
  4. I have included a blank jotter for the children to record their daily activities or keep a diary. They can also use this to think up creative stories.
