STEM Advent

4/12/2020

We have discussed what advent is at the start of this week and Miss Wilson showed us our STEM advent calendar that we will be completing in class from the 1st December until the end of term.

On Monday we had a one sheet of paper, paper chain contest. E did a fantastic job creating a very long chain, she said she cut the paper in skinny strips to help her. Well done M and C who also did very well!
On Tuesday we looked at how far we could get our Reindeer's to fly. T was the winner with 195cm , J with 173cm and K with 125cm. The class were patient taking turns and learnt that science experiments sometimes do not work first time.

We welcomed Miss Appleby to Langlee Primary (we had her for art this week only) and we created Christmas baubles in groups.

After Monday's STEM challenge we wanted to create our own paper chains to decorate the class room. They were so long that we managed to fill the corridor with them!!

Our challenge on Friday was to create 3D Christmas trees using pyramid nets. Some of us worked really well in a team to create these.
