Last week we looked at the huge gold frames that were painted and displayed on walls in castles. We created our own golden decorative frames. Today we looked at king and queen’s portraits and drew our own, including crowns of course!!

Today during Creativity Friday we have been using our listening and watching skills to draw Edinburgh Castle using step by step instructions. We then used watercolour paint to add colour.
We have been talking about what we know about our feelings with Miss Stirling this morning. We drew some of these emotions using line drawings.
This afternoon we have been using the shapes tool on Microsoft Publisher to create our own computer generated shape castles.

Today we have been learning about different parts of a castle. There were a lot of questions about defence against the enemies. We know that defence means to protect and we spoke about the different walls and features of the castle that were used to protect the castle from the baddies.
OW pointed out that a portcullis has a line of symmetry down the middle of it!
